“Make decisions based on the practical, not the principle.”
Andrew has lived in Florida his entire life, born in South Florida before moving to Orlando to attend college. At the University of Central Florida, he studied Philosophy and English extensively before narrowing his focus to the law. In 2005, he joined the Trial Team at UCF, gaining instant scholastic and academic recognition on a national scale for his advocacy skills. A natural writer, speaker and presenter, Andrew was destined to become a lawyer.
In 2009, Andrew entered Barry University School of Law on a scholarship awarded for his advocacy skills. In his first semester, he was accepted onto the law school’s nationally competitive trial team–a feat that few students achieve in their first year. Andrew was honored to compete not once but twice in his first year, becoming only the second student permitted to do so in the program’s history at that time. In his second year of law school, he went on to become a teaching assistant for Legal Research and Writing, teaching fellow students the art of legal writing.
By the time he graduated, Andrew had competed in eight advocacy competitions over the course of three years, again earning national recognition and numerous individual awards and championships. He was honored when the law school invited him to become a staff coach for its trial advocacy program.
Coaching has shown Andrew that he has a deep passion for education. He volunteered countless hours to this mission while in college and law school and then shifted his focus to adult immigrant education. He became an integral part of the citizenship program at Hope Community Center, where he taught bilingual interview-preparation classes for adult immigrants seeking U.S. citizenship. That small class soon blossomed into a massive, federally funded community outreach program. Andrew spearheaded the program’s capstone course in early 2014, and his citizenship and interview-preparation programs boasted a near-90-percent success rate on the first attempt.
Since becoming the Managing Attorney for SK&A, Andrew oversees all matters of litigation within the firm. With a deep knowledge and intimate understanding of a business’s bottom line, his approach to corporate law and business litigation is simple yet effective: risk mitigation and liability avoidance. With this two-pronged approach in mind, Andrew provides both corporate and individual clients with proactive liability avoidance advice and aggressive litigation strategies to meet all their legal needs. Today, Andrew focuses on real estate law, business litigation, general litigation, and corporate law to serve the clients of SK&A.
